problems treated

....conditions that respond to treatment

You may be considering alternative therapy for any one of a multitude of health problems. Linked pages will be added to this one to provide information on how Chinese medicine could help. Do not worry if your problem is not shown, it is likely to be due to a lack of time to prepare a web page for the site, please contact me to ask...

Please do not be concerned where the pages on conditions refer to imbalances in the organs of the body, such as the Heart and Lungs. The same organ names are used in Chinese medicine for very different contributions to the healthy working body. Read more...

Linked pages on each condition will

  • explain how the problem is described in Chinese terms
  • give testimonials from clients
  • give the WHO (World Health Organisation) evaluation of how effective acupuncture is for the problem
  • give links to other useful sites.

If I have not treated your own problem before:

  • I guarantee that I will fully research the problem and its treatment, see diagnosis...
  • I will also explain and discuss my findings with you.
  • I will listen to the advice and treatment recommended by doctors and specialists in Western medicine. Having a discussion about the Western treatment can help patients to take 'ownership' of their problems, find out more for themselves and go back to ask more questions as an educated patient (although my knowledge, of course, is never equivalent to that of a medical doctor)

How long will treatment take?

This is a hard question to answer as it varies so much from person to person and from problem to problem. I will be able to give you some idea of whether your problem can be resolved quickly after doing a full diagnosis. Usually a change should be seen after every treatment and a steady, sustained improvement is the ideal. Here are a few generalisations:

  • Acute problems such as a strain can usually be treated more quickly
  • Chronic problems such as long-term lower back pain will need long-term treatment
  • Following suggested life style changes will make recovery faster

You will find that acupuncture and Tuina can be used for far more problems than is commonly realised.
